About Hogwarts Sock Kit Swap

The first Hogwarts Sock Kit Swap began in May of 2007. Headmistress Winifred Wartbobble was enjoying the current BIG knitting swaps out there, but could not participate in the Hogwarts Sock Swap because, alas, she is not a good sock knitter. So, she decided to host her first knit KIT swap. She had hosted a few smaller swaps in the past in some of the Victorian groups that she had previously belonged to. The HSKS swap was the first swap she had organized with over 20 people participating. There was a lot to be learned. She strives to improve on her ability to orchestrate a successful swap each time with the suggestions of the participants. So, if you are swapping and think that she can improve in a particular area, please do not hesitate to let her know. For those interested: HSKS - A History

HSKS is a very active swap and it really is more than just a swap. There are weekly individual House games to be played, as well as three Inter-House Quidditch matches that take place during the swap.

If you are looking for a swap to join that only requires that you send a package this is not the swap for you. Swap participants need to be available to make contact at least once a week with their swap partner. The prefects and headmistress provide each swap participant with many tips and tricks on how to get around the weekly contact, but keep in mind - because we can not physically see your face or have the opportunity to call you on the phone, we will not know if you are dead or alive if you do not make contact on a weekly basis.

Follow the links up above to find out the specific requirements that are expected of you during the swap.
